Shahab Darabi re-arrested with violence following support for truck drivers’ strike

Shahab Darabi, a Kurdish resident of Eslamabad-e Gharb (Shabad), was violently arrested by Iranian security forces following his public expression of solidarity with the nationwide truck drivers’ strike. Darabi had previously been detained due to his activism.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Darabi was apprehended at his residence in Eslamabad-e Gharb amid acts of intimidation, violence, and physical assault.
His arrest followed recent activity on an Instagram page linked to him, which highlighted the ongoing truck drivers’ strike.
Following his detention, Darabi was transferred to an undisclosed location. As of this report, there is no verified information available regarding his current condition or whereabouts.
Previously, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Darabi was detained by security forces in Shabad after “posting content opposing the elections.” He was subsequently released.
Darabi, also known by his nickname “Yuz Asia” (Asian Cheetah), is not only an influencer but also works as a truck driver.
