Kurdish nurse from Dehloran sentenced to prison on charges of propaganda for Israel

An Iranian court has sentenced Mohammad Younesi, a Kurdish nurse from Dehloran in Ilam Province, to four years and three months in prison on charges of propaganda for Israel.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch Two of the Revolutionary Court in Ilam sentenced Younesi to seven months for “propaganda against the state” and three years and eight months for “propaganda aimed at strengthening, supporting, or legitimizing Israel.”
The court cited posts on Younesi’s Instagram account as evidence. He had previously faced prosecution and conviction over his activities.
Younesi was arrested by Iranian security forces in July 2025 and released from Ilam Prison on July 10 after posting bail.
