Iranian forces shoot dead Chiya Ahmadnejad, Kurdish tradesman, in Piranshahr

Chiya (Khezr) Ahmadnejad, a Kurdish tradesman from Mahabad and resident of Piranshahr, was shot and killed at close range by military forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was struck by three live bullets.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ahmadnejad, 42, a tradesman from Piranshahr, married and the father of three children, was hit by direct gunfire while driving toward the village of Ziweh in the Piranshahr district at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025. His body was left at the scene after he was killed.

Sources reported that Ahmadnejad’s vehicle, which was carrying no goods, was fired upon without prior warning on suspicion of transporting contraband.

Hengaw has learned that Iranian military forces pursued Ahmadnejad along the Ziweh road, shot him three times with live ammunition, and abandoned his body at the site.

His body was found several hours later and buried on Saturday evening.
