Fate of Shahram Jamali remains unknown nine days after arrest in Amol

Shahram Jamali, a 47-year-old resident of Mahmoudabad and former detainee of the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, has been held in custody for nine days following his arrest by Iranian security forces in Amol. His fate and whereabouts remain unknown.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Jamali — a married father of two — was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents at a highway checkpoint in Amol while returning from Tehran. His arrest was carried out without a warrant.
Despite nine days since his detention, his family’s repeated inquiries to judicial and security authorities have gone unanswered.
No information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, or the charges brought against him.
