Government forces open fire at Baneh border, killing one Kurdish trader and injuring another

A Kurdish border trader from Baneh, identified as Ebrahim Piranzad, was killed by direct fire from Iranian government forces, while another trader, Shaho, was seriously wounded.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Friday, October 25, 2025, police forces in the Sardaw border region of Baneh opened fire on a vehicle without prior warning, killing Ebrahim Piranzad, 32, from the village of Belwe, instantly.
Another passenger in the vehicle, Shaho from the village of Kani Sew, was shot in the shoulders and remains in critical condition.
Hengaw has learned that the military forces opened fire without issuing any warning, even though the two men’s vehicle was not carrying any goods or contraband.
Following the incident, a large number of relatives and residents gathered in front of the Baneh governor’s office on Friday night to protest the killing.
