Brother beats 23-year-old woman to death in Rumeshkan

Fatemeh Bazvand, a 23-year-old woman from Rumeshkan, died after being violently assaulted by her brother and spending two weeks in a coma. She succumbed to her injuries while hospitalized.

Information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights indicates that the assault took place on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Bazvand was subjected to severe physical violence by her brother, who struck her repeatedly on the head with a vacuum cleaner handle, causing critical injuries that left her in a coma.

An informed source told Hengaw that the attack was carried out under the pretext that "the food had not been prepared on time."

The same source added that their mother had taken her own life last year following repeated domestic violence inflicted by the same individual.
