Hengaw, Thursday, December 25, 2025

Iranian authorities have executed five prisoners in four separate detention facilities across the country. The cases involved charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related crimes.”

Information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights indicates that the death sentences of Amin Safari and Heshmat Beigi, both convicted on “drug-related crimes,” were carried out in Bojnord Prison in North Khorasan province and Ferdows Prison in South Khorasan province. The executions took place during the early hours of Thursday, December 25, 2025.

On the same day, Majid Khani, a Gilak prisoner from Sari in Mazandaran province, was executed in Sari Prison on charges of “premeditated murder.”

In a separate case, the executions of Mostafa Keifari, a Kurdish prisoner from Kangavar in Kermanshah (Kermashan) province, and Sohrab Majidi, a 30-year-old Gilak prisoner from Sari, were carried out in Lakan Prison in Rasht during the early hours of Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Both men had been arrested approximately four years ago on charges of “premeditated murder” and were later sentenced to death. The execution of Majidi was carried out secretly, and he was denied a final visit with his family.

State media, particularly outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, had not reported the executions.
