Six prisoners executed in detention facilities across Iran

Iranian authorities have carried out the executions of six prisoners, including two Kurdish prisoners, in detention facilities in Esfarayen, Nowshahr, Isfahan, Quchan, and Sanandaj. The individuals had previously been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related crimes” by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, during the early hours of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Ahad Mirzaei, convicted on charges related to drug-related crimes, was executed at Esfarayen detention facility in North Khorasan province. On the same morning, Hanif Mohammadi, a Gilak man from Nowshahr in Mazandaran province convicted of premeditated murder, was executed at Nowshahr detention facility.
Also on Wednesday, Yasin Azimi, a 30-year-old man from Khomeinishahr in Isfahan province, and Abbas Gholipour, a 26-year-old man from Isfahan, were executed at Isfahan Central Detention Facility (Dastgerd). Azimi had been detained for four years and Gholipour for nearly two years, both on charges of premeditated murder. Reports indicate that they were denied a final family visit prior to their executions.
Separately, during the early hours of Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Farid Norizad, a Kurdish man from Quchan in Razavi Khorasan province convicted of premeditated murder, was executed at Quchan detention facility.
In another case, during the early hours of Monday, December 29, 2025, Qasem Amini, a Kurdish man from Sanandaj (Sine) who had also been convicted of premeditated murder, was executed at Sanandaj Central Detention Facility.
These executions have not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
