Two Baloch brothers arrested in Zahedan with their fate unknown after 13 days

Mehdi Rahmatzadeh and Misagh Rahmatzadeh, two Baloch brothers from Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, have been arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. After 13 days, there is still no information regarding their fate.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, despite 13 days having passed since the arrests of Misagh Rahmatzadeh, 18, and Mehdi Rahmatzadeh, 21, both from Zahedan, their fate remains unknown. Despite the family’s efforts, the Intelligence Office has refused to provide any information.

The two brothers were arrested on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, following a raid by Intelligence Office forces on their family home on Enghelab Street in Zahedan.

Mehdi Rahmatzadeh was transferred from the Intelligence Office detention centre to Ward 9 of Zahedan Prison on Friday, November 28, 2025. However, no information has yet been obtained regarding the whereabouts or condition of Misagh Rahmatzadeh.

No precise information has emerged regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges brought against them, or the fate of the two brothers.
