Two Baloch men held incommunicado 47 days after arrest
Hengaw – Monday, May 4, 2026
Forty-seven days after the arrest of Ebrahim Shahbakhsh and Naim Shahbakhsh, two Baloch men detained by government forces, no reliable information is available about their fate or condition. Both have been denied family visits and access to legal counsel.
Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ebrahim Shahbakhsh, 24, and Naim Shahbakhsh, 27, both from Zahedan, were arrested on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, along the Narmashir–Rigan road in Kerman Province by government forces. Reports indicate that they were subsequently transferred to a Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in Zahedan.
According to informed sources, the two men have been allowed only a single brief phone call with their families since their arrest. All subsequent efforts by their families to obtain information about their legal status or arrange visits have been unsuccessful.
Hengaw has learned that government authorities have accused the two men of “collaborating with opposition groups.”
