Hengaw – Saturday, May 2, 2026
Iranian authorities arrested Modasser Ali Arbab, a 30-year-old Baloch man, and his wife in the city of Saravan, Sistan and Baluchestan province, and transferred them to an undisclosed location. The arrest was carried out in front of their young children.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, government forces raided the family home of Modasser Ali Arbab in Saravan at dawn on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, without presenting a judicial warrant. He and his wife, whose identity is still being verified, were detained during the raid.
The Baluchestan-focused outlet Haalvsh reported that the arrest took place in the presence of the couple’s two young children. The children were left in the house for several hours before being handed over to relatives.
Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for the arrest, any charges brought against the couple, or their place of detention. The family’s efforts to obtain information about their fate have so far been unsuccessful, raising serious concerns about their well-being and legal rights.
