Imposing death, imprisonment, and fine sentences for 22 Kurdish political activists in March 2022

Hengaw: During last month, the branches of the Revolutionary and Criminal Courts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kurdistan cities have sentenced at least 22 Kurdish political activists to death, imprisonment, and fines. 
 
According to the statistics recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, in March 2022, at least 22 Kurdish political activists were tried by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, two of whom were sentenced to death, other 20 to a total of 63 years in prison, and one of them was  sentenced to pay a fine of 30 million Tomans besides the imprisonment. 
 
Firuz Musalu from Qutur (Kutul) and Hatem Ozdemir from Turkish Kurdistan were Kurdish political prisoners who were sentenced to death last month. Aziz Qadertaj, a teacher from Oshnavyeh, was also sentenced to 3 years in prison. 
 
Most of these verdicts that include 15 cases, were issued by Branch 1 of the Oshnavyeh Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge Rezaei.
