While more than a month has passed since the arrest of Shahram Farhadi, a civil rights activist and former political prisoner from Sanandaj, there is no information about his current condition.
Shahram Farhadi was arrested 35 days ago. According to the information the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights received, this activist has only made a brief phone call to let his family know he is being held in the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Center.
On Friday, November 25, 2022, the Iranian government's security forces detained this civil rights activist.
Shahram Farhadi was reportedly detained on November 16, 2017, and on February 12 of the same year, the first branch of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court sentenced him to four years in prison for "collaborating with one of the Iranian government's opposition Kurdish parties." The appeals court reduced this sentence to two years in prison.
This citizen was given amnesty and released from prison on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, after serving 15 months of a 2-year sentence, according to prior Hengaw reports.
