The arrests occurred following a picket rally of families of detained civil and labor rights activists in Sanandaj. Of those arrested, the identities of eight, including Bahieh Karimi, Delir Karimi, Nasrin Karimi, Zeinab Karimi, Seywan Karimi, Kian Pishkari, Golaleh Pishkari, and Mahnaz Mohammadian, have been submitted to Hengaw.
According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, government forces forcefully entered the picket of families of detainees in Sanandaj on Saturday, May 20, 2023, and apprehended Bahieh Karimi, Delir Karimi, Nasrin Karimi, Zeinab Karimi, Seywan Karimi, Kian Pishkari, Golaleh Pishkari, and Mahnaz Mohammadian.
A reliable source revealed that during the arrests of these families, who had rallied to inquire about their detained family members custodial status, intelligence and police forces brutally assaulted the protesters.
These recent arrests are part of an ongoing government crackdown, with at least 10 civil and labor rights activists from Sanandaj having been detained and relocated to undisclosed locations in the past three days.
