A young Kolbar named Sayvan Sahihi, hailing from Baneh, fell victim to fatal gunfire from the border

A young Kolbar named Sayvan Sahihi, hailing from Baneh, fell victim to fatal gunfire from the border regiment forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the late evening of Sunday, February 11, 2024, Sayvan Sahihi, a 20-year-old resident of Baneh, was shot and killed at close range near the "Sardab" border of Baneh, Sanandaj province. The Iranian border regiment forces opened fire without warning, resulting in his untimely demise.

Sayvan Sahihi was from the village of "Balkeh" in Baneh city. His body was handed over to his grieving family early this morning at Salah Aldin Hospital in Baneh City.

According to data compiled by the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the year 2023 witnessed the deaths of at least 22 Kolbars, with 116 others sustaining injuries in the border areas of Baneh city.
