Masoud Shekari, a member of justice-seeking families and the father of Mohsen Shekari, who was executed during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, was arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Masoud Shekari, the father of Mohsen Shekari, who was executed during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, was taken into custody by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024.

Masoud Shekari was arrested in front of his personal residence by six plain-clothed security forces, as reported by a trusted source, without any warrant being provided.

As of the release of this news, there has been no information released on the reasons for this arrest, the attributed charges, or Masoud Shekari’s current whereabouts. His family's follow-ups on his situation has yielded no results.

Mohsen Shekari was detained during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement and was executed on December 8th, 2023, after 75 days in custody. He was the first protester to be executed following the mentioned movement.
