At least three Kurdish citizens arrested in Mahabad

Hengaw: In the Kurdish city of Mahabad in Iranian Kurdistan, at least three citizens were arrested by forces of the Ettelaat.

Hengaw: In the Kurdish city of Mahabad in Iranian Kurdistan, at least three citizens were arrested by forces of the Ettelaat.

According to a report received by Hengaw human rights organization, two Kurdish citizens named Loghman Mawlani (40) and Khaman Ahmadi (38) from the village of Bitas near Mahabad, West Azerbaijan province, were arrested by forces of the Ettelaat (Iranian Secret service).

At the same time, a Kurdish citizen named Bayzid Djahangiri from the village of Hadjiali Kand near Mahabad was arrested by forces of the Ettelaat.

According to an informed source, the three citizens were visited and arrested at home by the forces without an arrest warrant. Afterwards, house searches were carried out without any legal basis and their cell phones were confiscated.

After their arrest, the three Kurdish citizens were transferred to the Ettelaat detention center in Urmia. It is not yet known why they were arrested or what charges they are awaiting.
