A Kurdish Kolbar Killed by Direct Fire from the Iranian Border Guards in Marivan

A 25-year-old young Kurdish man from Marivan, named Asad Afranjeh, was killed by direct fire from the Iranian Border Guards at the border heights of this city.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at around 30:00 in the morning on Thursday, August 1, 2024, Asad Afranjeh, a resident of the "Sianav" village in Marivan, Kurdistan Province, was killed by the Iranian Border Guards.

According to Hengaw’s sources, Asad Afranjeh, who was the father of a young child, was shot 10 kilometers away from the borde, near the village of Eskol.

Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center Hengaw, in July 2024, at least 5 Kolbars were killed by direct fire from the Iranian Border Guards, in the borders areas of Nowsud, Marivan, Baneh, and Sardasht.
